Projects
- RuneCrypt [PHP, MySQL, Community Forum, Video Content, Game Database]
## The Challenge RuneScape had millions of players worldwide but lacked a comprehensive, community-driven resource hub. Existing fan sites were fragmented and offered limited tools for the growing player base. ## What I Built Launched the premier RuneScape community platform with three integrated web applications covering game guides, item databases, and player analytics. Built and managed a distributed team of 30+ content creators and moderators across North America and Europe. ## The Result Grew to 42,000+ registered members and over 350,000 forum posts. Became the first fan site officially endorsed by Jagex Games Studio. Generated 850,000+ video views across the platform's content library. Year: 2004 - RookDuel [JavaScript, Three.js, Turn-Based Combat, AI Opponents]
## The Challenge Vibe Jam 2025 called for building an immersive browser game from scratch under tight time constraints, with a focus on strategic depth over visual spectacle. ## What I Built Created a turn-based duel game featuring strategic combat mechanics where every decision matters. Implemented character progression systems, resource management, competitive leaderboards, and AI opponents with varying difficulty levels. ## The Result Delivered a polished, playable game within the jam timeline that balances risk and reward in engaging gameplay loops. Players can challenge AI opponents of escalating difficulty or compete for leaderboard positions. Year: 2025 · visit project - Fade [React Native, Expo, Mobile Game, PvP Combat, AI Opponents]
## The Challenge RookDuel proved the core game mechanics worked, but it was browser-only. The goal was to bring the experience to mobile with a more competitive, high-stakes format. ## What I Built Revamped RookDuel into a polished mobile app — a high-stakes duel game where players wager gold in zero-sum PvP combat. Built with React Native and Expo for a mobile-first experience featuring strategic resource management, competitive leaderboards, and AI opponents. ## The Result Wager your gold, take theirs — no refills, no mercy. The mobile-first approach enabled fast, engaging gameplay sessions that translate the strategic depth of the original into a pick-up-and-play format. Year: 2025 · visit project - AccountabiliBuddy [React Native, Expo, Fitness, Social, Mobile App]
## The Challenge Most fitness apps focus on tracking workouts in isolation. People are more likely to stick with goals when they have someone holding them accountable, but no app was doing partner-based accountability well. ## What I Built A fitness accountability app that pairs users with accountability partners. Features goal setting, progress tracking, partner matching, and motivational check-ins — all designed for real human connection in fitness with a clean, modern mobile interface. ## The Result Created a unique social fitness experience that bridges the gap between solo tracking apps and personal coaching, making accountability accessible and engaging for everyday users. Year: 2026 - Checkmate Labs [Software Studio, Mobile Apps, Web Apps, Games]
## The Challenge After years of building side projects and shipping products independently, it was time to formalize the work under a studio brand with a strategy-first identity. ## What I Built Founded a one-person software studio focused on building mobile apps, web apps, and games. Named after chess because every project starts with thinking a few moves ahead. Currently home to AccountabiliBuddy and Fade, with future projects in development. ## The Result Established a studio identity with emphasis on thoughtful design, solid foundations, and continuous iteration. Provides a unified brand for shipping multiple products across platforms. Year: 2026 · visit project - The Freight Pod [WordPress, Podcast Player, Newsletter Integration, Social Media]
## The Challenge The Freight Pod podcast needed a professional digital home that could showcase episodes, grow its newsletter audience, and reflect the brand's authority in transportation and logistics. ## What I Built Designed and developed a modern, visually striking website with episode players, newsletter signup integration, and social media connectivity. Created an engaging user experience that reflects the podcast's professional brand. ## The Result Delivered a polished platform that serves as the podcast's digital hub, driving listener engagement and newsletter growth while providing a strong brand presence for industry audiences. · visit project - The Right Time Barber [WordPress, Online Booking, Service Menu, Local SEO]
## The Challenge An Austin-based barbershop needed a modern digital presence that reflected its premium services and made it easy for customers to book appointments online. ## What I Built Designed and developed a professional website with a responsive platform featuring an interactive service menu, seamless online booking integration, and curated customer testimonials. ## The Result Optimized for local SEO to drive foot traffic and appointments. The site established a strong digital presence that matches the shop's in-person experience and makes booking effortless. Year: 2024 · visit project - Skyline San Marcos [WordPress, Event Booking, Multi-Market, PayPal Integration]
## The Challenge A growing party bus and event coordination service needed a website to establish credibility and convert visitors into bookings across multiple Central Texas markets. ## What I Built Developed and managed a full-stack website with a responsive platform showcasing entertainment services in Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio. Integrated a booking system for seamless customer conversions. ## The Result The platform enabled the business to expand its reach across Central Texas, providing a professional online presence that streamlined the booking process and increased customer conversions. Year: 2013 - Skyline San Marcos Redesign [WordPress, UX Redesign, Mobile-First, Brand Refresh]
## The Challenge The original Skyline San Marcos site had aged and no longer reflected the company's evolving brand or the expectations of mobile users. ## What I Built Executed a complete website redesign with modernized visual identity, enhanced mobile responsiveness, and a streamlined booking flow with updated branding across Texas markets. ## The Result Improved user experience and mobile conversion rates with a fresh design that better represented the brand and made booking faster on any device. Year: 2015 - Skyline Entertainment [WordPress, Corporate Site, Multi-Location, Service Showcase]
## The Challenge Skyline Entertainment & Party Bus Company needed a corporate website that unified all service divisions and locations under a single cohesive brand. ## What I Built Built the main corporate website developing a comprehensive digital platform showcasing all service divisions across Texas entertainment markets. Created unified branding and streamlined navigation for the multi-location business. ## The Result Delivered a professional corporate presence that tied together multiple service lines and locations, making it easy for customers to find the right service regardless of their Texas market. Year: 2012 - San Marcos Tours & Charter [WordPress, Fleet Showcase, Online Reservations, PayPal Deposits]
## The Challenge A charter and tour service covering Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio needed a website that could handle diverse booking types — from corporate events to school outings to airport transfers. ## What I Built Developed a responsive platform with an integrated booking system, fleet showcase, online reservation system, and PayPal integration for deposits. Organized services by category for easy navigation. ## The Result Created a one-stop platform that streamlined bookings across all service types, from corporate events and school outings to airport transfers and special occasions. Year: 2014 - The World On My Back [HTML/CSS, Travel Blog, Photo Gallery]
## The Challenge Wanted a personal space to document global travel adventures and showcase photography work, with a focus on storytelling and visual impact. ## What I Built Created a personal travel portfolio and photography gallery with curated travel content, high-resolution photography galleries, and design case studies showcasing creative work. Built from scratch with custom HTML and CSS. ## The Result Produced a visually compelling portfolio that captured travel experiences and served as a creative outlet, demonstrating early web development skills and design sensibility. Year: 2012 - Skyline College Station [WordPress, College Market, Mobile Booking, Game Day Events]
## The Challenge The College Station market had a unique audience — college students at Texas A&M — requiring a different approach than the San Marcos or Austin sites. ## What I Built Developed a targeted website optimized for the college demographic with a mobile-first booking interface tailored for Texas A&M students and game day events. ## The Result Captured the college market with a site that spoke directly to students, driving bookings around game days and campus events with a fast, mobile-friendly experience. Year: 2013 - Addy Had Me [WordPress, Content Platform, User Submissions, Community]
## The Challenge Needed a platform for humor and storytelling content that would encourage community contributions and keep visitors engaged. ## What I Built Developed a content platform with a WordPress-based site featuring mobile-responsive design and a user-friendly content submission interface for community contributions. ## The Result Launched a community-driven content hub that made it easy for users to submit and share content, creating an engaging platform for humor and storytelling. Year: 2014 - Arpin America Moving Systems [WordPress, Service Categories, Lead Generation]
## The Challenge Arpin America Moving Systems needed a professional website that could generate leads and clearly communicate their full range of residential, corporate, and international moving services. ## What I Built Developed a clean, user-friendly platform with service category navigation, online estimate scheduling, and detailed service pages highlighting the company's competitive advantages and commitment to quality. ## The Result Created a lead-generating platform that clearly organized complex service offerings into an intuitive interface, helping potential customers quickly find and request the services they needed. Year: 2013 - Knight Teleprompter [Web App, Voice Recognition, Picture-in-Picture, Sales Tools]
## The Challenge Teleprompters are either expensive desktop software, sketchy browser tools, or require accounts and installs just to read a script on a sales call. Nothing felt clean enough to actually use during live customer meetings. ## What I Built A distraction-free web teleprompter built for sales pros and execs. Real-time voice tracking advances the script as you speak, a stealth Picture-in-Picture pop-out floats over Zoom/Meet/Teams invisibly, and zero data is uploaded — everything runs in the browser. No account, no install, free. ## The Result Shipped under the Checkmate Labs studio. Confidence on camera without ever looking like you're reading. Used live on real sales calls and exec briefings. Year: 2026 · visit project - TVesta [Web App, Vestaboard, Digital Signage, TV Display]
## The Challenge Vestaboard is a beautiful split-flap display, but a physical board costs hundreds of dollars and takes up wall space. Plenty of teams want the aesthetic on a TV they already own, without buying new hardware. ## What I Built A full-screen browser viewer that turns any TV, monitor, or laptop into a Vestaboard display. Just open the URL on any screen — no extra hardware, no installs, no native app. Works on smart TVs, conference room displays, and digital signage rigs. ## The Result A zero-cost way to put Vestaboard-style messages on any screen. Shipped under the Checkmate Labs studio. Year: 2026 · visit project - BoozeBoard [Web App, AI, Hospitality, Digital Signage, SMB Marketing]
## The Challenge Bars and craft taprooms have TVs running ESPN or static slides — wasted real estate. Owners want to promote specials, menus, and events but won't deal with hardware installs, contracts, or learning a CMS. ## What I Built A TV-ready marketing display for bars. Type your bar name or paste a Yelp link and AI reads your reviews, extracts the house vibe, and renders a live menu/specials/QR display in about a minute. Auto-rotates YouTube clips and branded menus. Owners update everything from their phone, every screen reflects it instantly. ## The Result No card on file, no hardware to ship, no demo call required. A back-of-house display every craft bar wishes existed. Shipped under Checkmate Labs. Year: 2026 · visit project - ContextBulbs [Web App, Developer Tools, AI Agents, Context Engineering]
## The Challenge Teams using multiple AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Replit Agent, etc.) waste hours re-explaining the same project context to each one — and worse, every agent ends up working from a slightly different version of the truth. ## What I Built One wiki, every AI agent, always in sync. ContextBulbs is the shared context layer where you define your project's conventions, architecture, and constraints once — then every agent reads from the same source. No more pasting the same primer into ten different chats. ## The Result Less repeating yourself, more shipping. A small but high-leverage tool for anyone working alongside agentic AI day to day. Shipped under Checkmate Labs. Year: 2026 · visit project - Nexus [Web App, AI Agents, Sales Intelligence, Enterprise Sales, Multi-Agent]
## The Challenge Every enterprise sales rep does the same pre-call ritual: scrape the 10-K, skim LinkedIn, dig through press releases, paste it into ChatGPT, repeat for the next account. It's hours of work for a context window that goes stale in a week. ## What I Built Nexus dispatches 36 specialized AI research agents at any target company in parallel. They read SEC filings, hiring patterns, exec moves, tech bets, Glassdoor chatter, and earnings transcripts, then assemble a single ChatGPT-ready context pack you upload before your next call. Built for AEs, AMs, and CSMs running named-account books. ## The Result The pre-call prep that used to take a half day now takes under a minute. Sales calls go better when you've already read the file on them. Shipped under Checkmate Labs. Year: 2026 · visit project - MMT HQ [Web App, Fantasy Football, ESPN API, Sports, Data Visualization]
## The Challenge Fantasy football leagues build a decade of memories — trophies, sackos, blowouts, dynasties — but ESPN buries it all behind paginated season views nobody actually clicks through. The history of a long-running league deserves a museum, not a dropdown. ## What I Built Plug in your ESPN league and MMT HQ pulls every season back to year one — every champ, every sacko, every blowout, every receipt — and turns it into a permanent fantasy football museum. Six themed exhibit wings, on-air styling, lifetime exhibits that update as new seasons close. ## The Result The museum your league deserves. Open Sundays, records stay open forever. Shipped under Checkmate Labs. Year: 2026 · visit project
